Deenly. November 21, 2005 - June 30, 2006
November 21, 2005 Deenly was released. After 5 months of coding it that previous summer, I finally released it on my birthday. It was a terrific birthday present to myself. The first few days had amazing growth: all of my friends and people from my school joined. It was the cool thing to do. Soon enough, we had 50 players, 100 players! More and more people joined, finally peeking at 131 active accounts.

As more people joined and played, I added new features like the galaxy and armies and the forums. Deenly shirts were created and sold. Deenly pencils and stickers were bought after the success of the shirts. I still have about 600 pencils if anyone wants some. I still have about 7 sheets of sticker paper if anyone wants some of that.

Randomly, players started to quit, saying they got bored at the top, but everyone wondered why they were so angry when players got better to spark competition. New players came less and less. We were left with the loyal and determined players, but were losing it fast. Every time my host went down for a day, less and less people came. I quickly worked on new features such as the under galaxy, wolf pack attacking, and a more advanced army forum for players.

Unfortunately, about two weeks ago, my host failed. It has been down since June 15, 2006. I have asked fellow programmers and webmasters for their advice, and they said to "get out of [here]" and on June 30, 2006, Deenly was pronounced dead. So, I have pointed my namesavers away from my old host (www.hostblimp.com) and towards the host of a friend (www.gubbax.com). I strongly recommend Gubbax, as they are very reliable.

I have decided not to try to find new hosting and new ways to get people to join Deenly, for as far as I'm concerned, it is over. Deenly was a very very fun project for me, and I hope it was very fun for those of you who played it.

Thank You.
